Indian team climbs to 100th spot in FIFA Rankings | Football News – Times of India

NEW DELHI: The Indian football team has achieved a significant milestone by climbing to the 100th spot in the latest FIFA Men’s Football Rankings. The All India Football Federation (AIFF) shared this news with fans through its official Twitter handle.
“India move up to [rank] in the latest FIFA Men’s World Ranking. Steadily we rise. #IndianFootball,” tweeted the AIFF.

According to the FIFA Rankings released on June 29, India have secured the 100th position with 1204.90 points, showcasing the team’s steady progress and improvement.
This achievement comes on the heels of India’s recent victory in the Intercontinental Cup, where they clinched their second title by defeating Lebanon 2-0 in the final on June 18 in Bhubaneswar.
The Indian team is now preparing to face Lebanon in the semi-finals of the South Asian Football Federation (SAFF) Championship, scheduled to take place on July 1 in Bengaluru. India has an impressive record in this competition, having won it eight times in the years 1993, 1997, 1999, 2005, 2009, 2011, 2015, and 2021, making them the most successful team in the history of the tournament.
