Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny’s big game teaser trailer has arrived and it features another look at younger Indy alongside Mads Mikkelson’s Jürgen Voller and Phoebe Waller-Bridge’s Helena.
Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny is set to be released in theaters on June 30, 2023, and will be the fifth entry in the franchise that first began with 1981’s Raiders of the Lost Ark.
We still don’t know too much about Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny, we know Ford, Mikkelson, and Waller-Bridge, will be joined by Antonio Banderas, John-Rhys Davies, Shaunette Renee Wilson, Thomas Kretschmann, Toby Jones, Boyd Holbrook, Oliver Richters, and Ethann Isidore. Additionally, Logan’s James Mangold will be directing the film.
Speaking of Mangold, the director confirmed that fans will be able to see a de-aged Harrison Ford in the opening moments of the film as he wanted the audience to have an “adrenaline” rush by seeing a younger Indiana Jones in action.
“I wanted the chance to dive into this kind of full-on George-and-Steven old picture and give the audience an adrenaline blast,” Mangold explained. “Then we fall out, and you find yourself in 1969… The audience doesn’t experience the change between the ’40s and ’60s as an intellectual conceit, but literally experiences the buccaneering spirit of those early days… and then the beginning of now.”
