Indus Battle Royale Alpha Footage Shows Early Gameplay, Settings, World and More

Indus Battle Royale is a made-in-India title developed by Pune-based studio, SuperGaming. The game has been gaining a lot of traction recently, and it is about to reach the one million mark in pre-registrations. Interest in the developers has also grown globally as recently we learned that popular gaming publisher, Bandai Namco has invested in SuperGaming.

Indus Battle Royale has just released alpha footage for the game, with details about the game’s setting, lobby and loading screens, gameplay, maps and more. The alpha footage gives an idea on what players can expect from the title when it comes out.

Indus Battle Royale Settings

In terms of setting and customization, players can tweak general options, controls, gameplay, sensitivity, graphics and audio. In general options, players can enable/disable Aim Assist, Auto Loot and Gyroscope, while also having the toggle for ADS Mode. When it comes to controls, players can choose their movement and firing options, and additionally customize the controls on the screen.

In gameplay settings, players can adjust settings related to movement, player/weapon and the minimap. In the sensitivity department, players will be able to adjust their Standard, Ironsight, Red Dot, Holographic, 4X and 8X Optic sensitivities.

With the graphics section of the settings menu, players will be able to enable/disable post processing and anti-aliasing. They will also be able to tweak material quality, shadow quality, foliage density, model quality and frame rate. Lastly, in volume, players will be able to adjust master volume, background music and the SFX.

Indus Battle Royale Lobby

When it comes to the game’s lobby, starting from the left top corner, players will see their icon and the level they are at. Then there is a featured collection right above what seems like a friends or party list. On the bottom, we see various options to choose weapons and avatars, visit the store, Battle Pass or clan page.

Then on the bottom right we see a Play option along with an option to select game modes, Battle Royale, Free Roam and Firing Range were the available ones. On the top right we see a countdown for an event launch, a challenges options, the player’s in-game currency and other settings. Right in the center of the screen we see the player avatar, holding a weapons.

Indus Battle Royale Gameplay

The Indus Battle Royale Alpha Footage showcases a decent bit of gameplay to the players. It introduces a very interesting feature in the start which involves the formation squads. Players are spawned onto a map and there more than 15 boxes floating around the area. The players have to form groups of four in these boxes and then they will be put in a squad together.

Once the squad formation is done, the players are thrown into the map like any other game, and they need to nosedive to the landing point they choose. There are several loot boxes spread across the map, which consists of weapons as well as attachments and items.

In terms of traversal, there is no sprint option, however the players can slide and crouch. As mentioned by the developers, the world and the buildings on the map have a very Indo-futuristic theme. There are intriguing statues and structures spread across the map too.

In combat, when you shoot at an enemy, there is no blood, but sparks are visible and the enemy explodes and drops their lootbox when they are killed. Players can carry only two weapons at a time, along with some throwables and healing resources. Once the player dies, there is no coming back to the match, they are provided with their match summary and then asked to find a new one.

Looking at the alpha footage, it does provide a promising update for the game. It picks up some of the commonly seen elements already available in most mobile battle royale titles. But it also brings the players a new world to mess around. It will be interesting to see how the developers build on this alpha version of the game to provide the players with the finished product.
