Infinix to launch Nothing Phone-like smartphone, here’s what Carl Pei said

Infinix’s new smartphone series will be called ‘GT’, according to a tweet by Mukul Sharma. A render of the upcoming device has also been posted on the Infinix Community XClub. It shows what’s supposed to be the back design of the upcoming Infinix smartphone. The render shows that there are dual rear cameras aligned vertically on the left corner of the smartphone. 

What stands out though is the strikingly similar design to the Nothing Phone (2). Just like the LED light strips on the Phone (2), the Infinix smartphone also has the same design outlined on it. We can’t confirm if it is going to be LED lights on the Infinix phone as well but the design is too similar to not consider the possibility. Nothing CEO Carl Pei who replied to the tweet saying, “Time to get the lawyers ready! ????”

As for the upcoming Infinix phone, the company hasn’t made any official announcement yet. But according to the tipster, this smartphone is scheduled to launch in August. So we should start hearing about the upcoming phone very soon. It also isn’t confirmed if the Infinix GT series will launch with one or more smartphones. The ‘GT’ branding is also familiar since Realme also has a GT smartphone series so that could draw some attention as well. 

Infinix wouldn’t be the first to “copy” the Nothing design language in the industry, if it does plan to launch a phone with a similar-looking LED mechanism. A Nothing Phone (1) dupe was spotted at the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona earlier this year,
