Insomniac Games Currently Working on Unannounced AAA Project Beyond Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 and Wolverine

PlayStation Studios’ Insomniac Games is currently working on another unannounced AAA game. Fans are already eagerly anticipating two of Insomniac’s upcoming games, the first of which is Marvel’s Spider-Man 2, launching this October. Another game known to be in development at Insomniac Games is Marvel’s Wolverine.

The project director of this unannounced AAA game, Erin Eberhardt, spoke at a seminar in 2022 to Full Sail University’s Dr. Haifa Maamar, who specialises in tech and game programs. Here she mentioned this unannounced AAA title that she has been working on at Insomniac Games. She explains that after working at companies like Disney, PlayStation Now, Blizzard Entertainment, this is her first AAA game project, where she is working as the project director.

While Eberhardt refrains from sharing details about the upcoming game, there have been rumours about the studio working on a “multiplayer game”. Back in June 2021, the studio was known to be hiring a “systems designer” who can “oversee aspects of multiplayer features, mechanics, systems design, and more”.

Insomniac Games’ next big project is Marvel’s Spider-Man 2, which will be released exclusively for PlayStation 5 on October 20, 2023. It will see Peter Parker and Miles Morales from the 2018 and 2020 games fighting crimes together. Marvel’s Wolverine is now being expected to launch in 2025, after a rumoured postponement of the game from a Fall 2024 release window. The game was first announced in September 2021 along with a short teaser.
