Intel Arc A-Series GPUs Get an Updated Graphics Driver as It Talks About Chips with 1 Trillion Transistors by 2030

A new Intel Arc A-series Graphics Driver 101.3959 has now gone live, and it brings significant improvements to game performance when compared to the driver released in October (v3490). Players will observe major FPS improvements with Counter Strike: Global Offensive, StarCraft 2, and League of Legends, reaching up to 79%, 48%, and 36% in average FPS at 1080p high settings respectively.

Check out the new Arc capabilities, features, and gaming highlights for Arc Control and A-series GPUs below:

  • Firstly, they have introduced Game on Driver supports for World of Warcraft: Dragonflight, Warhammer 40K: Darktide, Marvel’s Midnight Suns, The Callisto Protocol, Need for Speed: Unbound and Fortnite Chapter 4 powered by Unreal Engine 5.1.
  • Players will also observe improved gaming performance for DX9 titles including Payday 2, Stellaris, GuildWars 2, and Moonlight Blade.
  • DX11 and DX12 based titles have also seen increased gaming performance for Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 on DX12, Dota 2 DX11, Dying Light on DX12 and More.

On the topic of Intel, some exciting new has been shared by the chipmaker. According to a report by SweClockers.com (via PCGamer), we have learned that the new innovations in packaging technologies and materials used will allow them and other chipmakers to have 10 times more transistor density when building chips. We are already at 1 billion transistors in chips, so the next step seems to be the 1 trillion mark.

This was their prediction Intel’s Components Research Group’s prediction while keeping in line with Moore’s Law. Gordon Moore had observed in 1965 that the number of transistors in a dense integrated circuit (IC) doubles about every two years. So if we go with Moore’s Law, then we can see a trillion transistor chip by 2024.
