iOS 15.2 Bluetooth connectivity bug might lead to major car accidents – Times of India

iOS 15.2 update brings several new features and also addresses bugs found in iOS 15.1 and iOS 15.1.1 updates. However, one bug that it does fix is the issue that automatically drops the Bluetooth connection while taking calls in the car via the infotainment system.
Some users also believe that the update has spread the bug to more iPhones than before and have already started reporting on the Apple Support Communities.
Based on the report, users are facing the Bluetooth Connection drop with vehicles manufactured by brands like Audi, BMW, Honda, Hyundai, Mazda, Mercedes, Porsche, Toyota, Volvo, etc.
What is this Bluetooth Connectivity issue
Those who aren’t aware, the iOS 15 included a bug that automatically disconnects the calls from the car’s infotainment system. As a result, the calls are getting redirected to the smartphone’s earpiece and microphone. With iOS 15. 2 update, the issue was supposed to be fixed, but apparently, according to some users that didn’t happen and claims suggest that it has expanded to more users.
How it will affect users and how it can be dangerous
Most people connect their smartphone with the car’s infotainment system to listen to music and take hands-free calls while driving. It is understood to be a safety feature that allows users to take calls while driving without any distractions or taking hands off the wheels.
With the Bluetooth automatically getting disconnected, the user is supposed to fumble and get into a rush of finding the phone and turn on the speaker as soon as possible to finish or hang up the call.
This can be dangerous while driving and may lead to an accident.
Apple, as of now, hasn’t addressed the issue and it is not sure when users will get a resolution for this. However, some users on the Community forum suggest that restarting the phone and turning the Bluetooth off for 20 seconds and then turning back on might fix the problem.
