iOS 15 release date revealed – This is when your iPhone gets these new features

It’s been a big night for Apple with the US technology firm revealing a swathe of new gadgets at its September launch event including a new iPad mini, updated iPhone 13 range and an improved Apple Watch with a bigger screen. However, if you’re not in the market for an upgrade then don’t panic as something new is still coming your way next week.

Apple has now officially revealed the launch date for its iOS 15 software upgrade which will bring a swathe of new features to any iPhone currently running iOS 14.

This update includes big changes to FaceTime with the video chat app getting improved audio and the option to block out background sound.

Safari has also been completely redesigned with the search bar being moved to the bottom of the screen to make things easier to use one-handed.

Another change is coming to Apple Maps with this service being given a massive lick of paint and new features including a three-dimensional city-driving experience.

If all that sounds exciting then there’s not too long left to wait with Apple pushing out this new software on Monday, September 20.

“For many customers, iPhone has become indispensable, and this year we’ve created even more ways it can enhance our daily lives.” said Craig Federighi, Apple’s senior vice president of Software Engineering.

“iOS 15 helps users stay connected while sharing experiences in real time, gives them new tools to help reduce distraction and find focus, uses intelligence to enhance the photos experience, and, with huge upgrades to Maps, brings new ways to explore the world. We can’t wait for customers to experience it.”
