iOS 16 Beta to introduce battery percentage in status bar, Changes in Find My feature and more | Digit
Apple today introduced the fifth beta of iOS 16 to developers. It is done for testing purposes. The version introduces some small but efficient changes to the iOS operating system.
The new iOS 16 beta includes the battery icon in the status bar and now displays the battery per cent exactly. This feature can be changed and operated in the Battery section of the Settings app.
iPhone 12 and iPhone 13 models will have battery levels available in them with the exception of the 5.4-inch iPhone 12 mini and iPhone 13 mini.
iOS 16 beta new features
The feature will also be available on iPhone X and XS. iPhone 11 and the iPhone XR will not have the feature available.
iPhones did not offer battery percentage as a feature for years because of space constraints. This is a good leap for many iPhone users. Before this, checking for battery percentage was done by swiping into the Control setting or using the battery widget in the handset.
New Find My Sound
iPhone models have a new sound that plays now when you use the find my phone feature. It operates when you use the “Play Sound” option in the Find My app for one of your devices. As compared to the iOS 16 version the voice is more louder and distinctive.
New Sound When Pinging iPhone from Apple Watch
You will hear a new sound if you tap on the iPhone icon to locate it. You can use it when you swipe up on the Apple Watch to get to the Control Centre.
Lock Screen Now Playing Visualizer
Full-screen music player and live mini visualizer will also be introduced as a new feature in the iOS 16 beta version.
Perspective Zoom
iOS 16 will not have the Perspective Zoom feature for the lock screen wallpapers. The Toggle to disable is also removed.
As the feature was available before, it might be re-launched in the future beta versions
