iPhone 14 front camera to get big upgrades, here’s what to expect – Times of India

Now that WWDC 2022 is done and dusted, all eyes are on Apple’s next big event — the launch of the iPhone 14 series. It is expected that Apple will unveil the next generation of iPhones in September. Likely to be called iPhone 14, the new series of iPhones has already got rumour mills buzzing. The latest rumour comes from noted Apple analyst Ming-Chi Kuo.
Kuo, in a blog post, has detailed how Apple could improve the front cameras of the iPhone 14 series. Kuo explains how Apple has got some first-time suppliers for the camera components. As for the front camera module, Apple has got LG Innotek as a partner on board. Cowell is another supplier working on the front camera of the iPhone 14.
The analyst says that this will be the biggest front camera upgrade on the iPhone in years. Kuo says that iPhone 14 front camera will have the autofocus feature, which will ensure higher quality images and videos. Currently, Apple iPhone 13 has a fixed focus camera. Kuo also says that the iPhone 14 front camera could have a larger f/1.9 aperture. Since the launch of the iPhone 11, the front camera has an f/2.2 aperture, which could see an upgrade with iPhone 14.

Other iPhone 14 rumours

There has been a lot of chatter over what to expect from the iPhone 14 series lineup. Rumours suggest that Apple might bring a new processor only for the Pro line up whereas the vanilla iPhone 14 could be on the same processor. This looks highly unlikely as one of the key features of the non-Pro iPhones has been that they run the same processor as their expensive siblings. Some reports suggest that Apple could drop the iPhone mini with the iPhone 14 series. In place of the mini, Apple could introduce a bigger iPhone 14 variant. The notch also may finally disappear with iPhone 14 as Apple is rumoured to introduce a pill-shape cutout on the display.
