Should you buy the iPhone 14 over iPhone 13?

The iPhone 14 ships with a 6.1-inch Super Retina XDR OLED display with symmetrical bezels, wide colour gamut, HDR, 1200nits brightness, a standard 60Hs refresh rate, True Tone, and regular notch on the top to house the front camera, and Face ID sensors. The phone packs 4GB RAM and 128GB, 256GB, and 512GB storage options.

Moving to optics, the iPhone 14 has dual cameras on the back, with a 12MP wide-angle primary sensor with a larger f/1.5 aperture, sensor-shift OIS, and a 12MP secondary ultra-wide-angle lens. There is a 12MP snapper on the front with autofocus for the first time for selfies and video chats.

The iPhone 14 ships with the A15 Bionic SoC, which is last year’s chipset. This is the first time that Apple is using a year-old chipset on its flagship iPhone. Basically, the iPhone 14 is strikingly similar to the iPhone 13, except for a slightly bigger battery capacity and autofocus support for the front camera. These aren’t major upgrades.

Buying iPhone 13 under Rs 50,000 during the upcoming festive sale over the iPhone 14 makes sense considering the two devices are pretty similar.

Additionally, the iPhone 13 will be available for under Rs 50,000 during the upcoming Flipkart Big Billion Days sale that will start on September 23rd. The iPhone 14 and iPhone 13 will have a huge price difference of close to Rs 30,000 during the sale. Buying the iPhone 13 during the sale will make a lot more sense than the iPhone 14 as the upgrades are quite minimal.
