iPhone 15 Pro design to include titanium frame, thinner bezels; price hike tipped once again
iPhone 15 Pro design details
- Besides the titanium frames, Gurman said in his report that the screens will also have thinner bezels, courtesy of a new display technology.
- This new technology allows for the shrinking of the black border by a third.
- As reported earlier, there will be a new Action button in place of the mute switch. This new button can be customisable to perform various tasks.
- The popular lighting port will be replaced by a USB Type-C port.
- Besides the Pro models, the biggest change coming to non-Pro models is the Dynamic Island for the iPhone 15 and iPhone 15 Plus. However, the refresh rate is still rumoured to stay put at 60Hz.
- All these hardware changes would possibly result in a price hike outside of the US, according to Gurman. Earlier reports claimed both iPhone 15 and iPhone 15 Pro will see a price increase of up to $200.
Apple Watch improvements
According to the report, the next Apple Watch, probably called Series 9 will have a “fairly sizable performance bump.” This will be the first notable speed boost for an Apple Watch since 2020. We should know if there would be any design changes soon.
The new iPhone 15 series and Apple Watch lineup are expected to debut in September, which is just over a month. However, rumours are rife that the sale of the phones, especially the Pro models might see a slight delay.
