iPhone 15 Pro Max Mute switch changing after 16 years, suggests leaked case image
iPhone 15 Pro Max design changes
- The most obvious change in the design of the iPhone 15 Pro Max is the relocation of the traditional ‘Mute Switch’. This is significant considering that Apple hasn’t changed this in the past 16 years.
- The leaked iPhone 15 Pro Max case shows a wider and more rounded button. Rumours are rife that this opening may house a new ‘Custom Button’.
- In comparison, previously the mute switch was positioned on the upper left side of the device. There is a flat and narrow oval opening on the case for easy toggling.
- This design change is in line with earlier leaked rumours and reiterates Apple’s intentions to replace the mute switch.
This button is said to be equipped with a miniature processor, which enables users to perform different actions, especially when the battery is low or the device is turned off. There will be other functionalities including secure Apple Pay transactions and locating the iPhone using the ‘Find My iPhone’ feature.
Moving away from the new ‘Mute Switch’, the case images also show a distinct cutout for the camera module, hinting at possible improvements compared to the predecessor. The larger cutouts also mean that Apple may introduce a more advanced camera system on the iPhone 15 Pro Max. That’s about the new iPhone 15 Pro Max’s case design. We should learn more details about the iPhone 15 series soon.
