iPhone 15 Pro may get faster USB C ports than non-Pro models – Times of India

After much scrutiny, Apple seems ready to jump to the USB C ports for the iPhone. While the iPhone maker has given a slight hint about the change, it is still unknown when this shift will happen. But, if one were to believe all the rumours are going around, the transition to the USB C port could take place as early as next year with the iPhone 15 series. And, now analyst Ming-Chi Kuo has it that the Pro and non-Pro iPhone 15 models would have different USB C ports.
Lately, the Pro and non-Pro models have only been growing apart in terms of features, which could further grow, with two models having different USB C ports. As per Kuo, the USB C ports on the iPhone 15 Pro and the standard models would have different speeds.
iPhone 15 Pro to get a faster USB C port, while the USB C on standard model will have the same speed as the Lighting port
The iPhone 15 Pro models, which could probably end up as the iPhone 15 Pro and Ultra, would come with a USB C port, offering USB 3.2 speeds. Meanwhile, the standard iPhone 15 models, supposedly iPhone 15 and iPhone 15 Plus, would have the same USB 2.0 speeds as the currently used Lighting port.
Assuming the rumour comes true, one can expect up to 40 Gbps speeds on the iPhone 15 Pro and iPhone 15 Ultra, whereas the standard iPhone 15 models would offer data transfer speeds of up to 480 Mbps.
Earlier rumors suggested that the ‘Pro’ iPhone 15 models would ditch the physical volume and power buttons for less clicky solid-state buttons. The other two non-Pro iPhone 15 models would have the same old physical buttons.
