iPhone 15 Pro series tipped come with new features: Solid-state buttons, increased RAM and more – Times of India

Apple is expected to unveil the next-generation of iPhones, likely to be called iPhone 15 series in the coming fall. The upcoming iPhone 15 lineup is rumoured to include the iPhone 15, iPhone 15 Plus, iPhone 15 Pro and iPhone 15 Pro Max smartphones. Jeff Pu, an analyst from Haitong International Securities, in his research note has outlined that iPhone 15 Pro models are in for some upgrades. Here are some of the notable changes that may come to the Pro models.
iPhone 15 Pro: What to expect
According to a report by MacRumors, Pu said that the upcoming iPhone 15 Pro series will be unveiled with a host of new features that may include a titanium frame, solid-state buttons with haptic feedback and increased RAM.
Jeff Pu further added that the iPhone 15 and iPhone 15 Pro models will come in two screen sizes – 6.1-inch and 6.7-inch – the same as the iPhone 14 series.
He expects the Pro models to feature a titanium frame and solid-state volume and power buttons with haptic feedback from two extra Taptic Engines. Furthermore, the analyst anticipates the Pro models to come integrated with 8GB of RAM as compared
to iPhone 14 Pro models that have 6GB of RAM.
The analyst believes that the iPhone 15 and iPhone 15 Plus will adopt the three-stacked sensor architecture for the main camera with a 48MP wide lens, which as of now, is exclusive to the iPhone 14 Pro and iPhone 14 Pro Max. However, telephoto and LiDAR sensors will still remain exclusive to the Pro models.
Further, the iPhone 15 and iPhone 15 Plus will also ditch the lightning port for a USB C port, similar to what is expected for the iPhone 15 Pro models.
What are Haptic buttons?
Haptic buttons on iPhones are said to feature better water resistance and claim to eliminate moving parts that can wear out or break over time. However, the base models– iPhone 15 and iPhone 15 Plus are still expected to come integrated with mechanical buttons.
