iPhone 16 Pro Max display to be larger than iPhone 15 Pro Max, as per early CAD renders

Apple is planning to unveil the iPhone 15 series this year. Ahead of that, a 9To5Mac report indicates that the iPhone 16 Pro Max/ Ultra might feature a larger display as compared to the iPhone 15 Pro Max.

The upcoming iPhone 15 Pro Max is expected not to feature the “Ultra” branding, while the iPhone 16 Pro lineup might incorporate it. Last year, Apple followed a similar approach with the Apple Watch Ultra. Take a look at the newly available renders.

According to computer-aided designs (CADs), it appears that the larger model of the upcoming iPhone 16, which may be named the iPhone 16 Ultra, will feature a screen size of approximately 6.9 inches and will have a notably larger overall body size. These CADs demonstrate how Apple intends to increase the screen size of the iPhone 16 Pro Max while maintaining the general form factor as close as is physically possible.

The dimensions of the iPhone 16 Pro Max are expected to be 165.0mm in height and 77.2mm in width. The dimensions of the iPhone 15 Pro Max are anticipated to be 159.8mm in height and 76.7mm in width, in contrast, as per the report.

The new CAD renders back up a recent report that stated the iPhone 16 Pro’s display would be about 6.3 inches, while the iPhone 16 Pro Max/Ultra screen size would be 6.9 inches. The display sizes on the non-Pro version are said to be 6.1 inches and 6.7 inches.

iPhone 15 series’ launch

The tech giant is set to launch the iPhone 15 series in the second half of 2023, and it will include the iPhone 15, iPhone 15 PlusiPhone 15 Pro, and iPhone 15 Pro Max. It is thought that this year’s iPhone 15 series will have a new, larger image sensor and a telephoto camera on the back. Other features include bezels that are narrower than expected.
