Iphone: iPhone 15 series display teased online: What to expect – Times of India

Apple is expected to launch its next-gen iPhone 15 series smartphones in the second half of 2023. The rumour mill has already started churning out several speculations about the next iPhone lineup. A tipster named Shrimp Apple Pro took to Twitter to share a post which includes a video showing three glass panels. These panels are likely to be the ones that are expected to be used on the iPhone 15 series. Two out of the three panels in the video appear to be the same size. Rumours suggest that the iPhone 15 and the iPhone 15 Pro smartphone will both carry 6.1-inch displays. Meanwhile, the iPhone 15 Plus and the iPhone 15 Pro Max (reportedly Ultra) are likely to sport 6.7-inch panels. This means the upcoming iPhone 15 lineup models will arrive with two different-sized panels. However, these panels might have different quality levels.

iPhone 15 display panels: What do they look like
As per the leaked Twitter video, all of the displays seem to have a cutout for the Dynamic Island feature. All four models of the iPhone 15 lineup are expected to support this feature that Apple introduced with the latest iPhone 14 series. The shape-shifting “notification” feature is currently available only on Pro the models of the iPhone 14 lineup which are — iPhone 14 Pro and iPhone 14 Pro Max. The leaked iPhone 15 series panels also feature curved bezels at the corners.
The iPhone 15 and iPhone 15 Plus are also expected to get the 48MP TrueDepth camera unit found on the iPhone 14 Pro and iPhone 14 Pro Max. It will replace the 12MP sensors that are currently used on the iPhone 14 and iPhone 14 Plus models.
Along with that, the iPhone 15 non-Pro units are also rumoured to come powered by the A16 Bionic chipset, which currently powers the iPhone 14 Pro series models. The tipster claims that also mentioned having confirmed the authenticity of the displays with other sources.

Apple’s plans for the TrueDepth camera
According to a report by The Elec, Apple is planning to move the TrueDepth Camera for Face ID from under the display for the iPhone 16 lineup, which is expected to be revealed in 2024. With this change, the iPhone 16 series may ditch the hole-punch cutout reserved for the front-facing FaceTime camera. This will be a major change for the Dynamic Island feature which is expected to get an upgrade in the next two years.
iPhone 15 Pro series: Other expected specs
The Pro and the rumoured Ultra models in the upcoming iPhone 15 series are expected to be powered by the A17 Bionic chipset. This chip is using TSMC’s 3nm process node. The high-end iPhones are expected to be one of the first smartphones to come out with 3nm chipsets. Apart from this, the iPhone 15 Ultra can feature a titanium body and a periscope lens that is expected to deliver 10x optical zoom. The iPhone 15 series is expected to be announced in September and released in the same month.
