IPL 2023 RR vs PBKS: Sam Curran, boosts Punjab’s innings to 187 runs

In a high-stakes match on Friday, Punjab Kings (PBKS) set a target of 188 runs for Rajasthan Royals (RR) at the Himachal Pradesh Cricket Association, Dharamshala. Sam Curran and Shahrukh Khan contributed an explosive partnership in the last few overs to boost the runs for the team.

Sanju Samson-led RR won the toss and decided to bowl first. Trent Boult started the attack for Rajasthan and struck early by dismissing Prabhsimran Singh at the score of 2 runs. PBKS skipper Shikhar Dhawan and Atharva Taide played some explosive shots and gave a tough time to RR bowlers until Navdeep Saini started his magic and dismissed Taide. Soon, Shikhar Dhawan was also sent back to the pavilion by Adam Zampa.

Navdeep Saini also took care of dangerous Liam Livingstone and dismissed at the score of just 9 runs. Then Jitesh Sharma and Sam Curran played some responsible shots and stabilized the innings. With occasional boundaries, both players were slowly taking the innings forward, but Navdeep Saini was not done yet and Jitesh Sharma was seen walking back to the pavilion.

Shahrukh walked on the crease with a clear objective to boost the runs during the end of the innings and with Sam Curran, the player smashed some boundaries and provided the team with much-required runs. Both players dominated completely during the last two overs and contributed a crucial partnership of 73 runs.

At the end of the innings, PBKS score was 187/5.
