iQoo 12 Vs. iQoo 12 Pro: Here’s What The Latest Android Flagships With Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 Offer – Smartprix
On Tuesday, November 7, 2023, iQoo released the iQoo 12 and the iQoo 12 Pro in China. The Android flagships come with top-of-the-line specifications, including higher refresh rate displays, the latest Snapdragon chipset, a triple camera setup that provides up to 100x hybrid zoom, and massive batteries that support ultra-fast wired charging. Although the phones will arrive in India next month, they should share the specifications and features with the Chinese model. That said, here’s everything you should know about the iQoo 12 series.
iQoo 12 Design
The iQoo 12 is available in three colors, including black, red, and white. All the models have a bezel-less display (with symmetrical bezels except a slight chin) with a punch-hole cutout in the center. The rear panel houses a massive camera cutout in the shape of a square with rounded edges. On the right spine, users get the power/volume buttons, while the right spine has antenna bands. On the top, there’s a speaker vent, a microphone, and an IR blaster. The bottom panel houses the USB-C port, a speaker vent, and a microphone.
iQoo 12 Key Details
The iQoo 12 comes with a 6.78-inch AMOLED screen with 1.5K resolution. It also supports a 144Hz refresh rate, a peak brightness of 3,000 nits, and HDR10+ certification for viewing content with high contrast ratio. Under the hood, the smartphone runs on the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 SoC.
In China, the phone is available in three different storage variants. While the base variant has 12GB of RAM and 256GB of storage, the top variant offers 16GB of RAM and 1TB of storage. Regarding storage, it’s UFS 4.0, which elevates the overall performance of the smartphone.
Triple Camera Setup Provides Up To 100X Digital Zoom
As far as optics are concerned, the iQoo 12 features a 50MP (f/1.7, 1/1.3-inch) primary sensor with optical image stabilization, a 64MP (f/2.6, 1/2.0-inch) periscope sensor for up to 3x optical zoom, and a 50MP (f/2.0, 119-degrees) ultrawide sensor. On the front, users get a 16MP (f/2.45) selfie shooter. With the advanced image signal processor and the primary sensor, the iQoo 12 can record 8K videos at 30 frames per second and 4K videos at 24/30/60 frames per second.
Powering the smartphone is a 5,000 mAh battery that supports up to 120W wired fast charging. However, the iQoo 12 doesn’t support wireless charging. Other phone features include Wi-Fi 7, Bluetooth v5.4 (with support for aptX Adaptive and aptX Lossless), NFC, USB Type-C port, dual speakers, and an under-display fingerprint scanner.
iQoo 12 Price
The iQoo 12 (12/256 GB) costs CNY 3,999 in China, roughly equal to Rs. 45,000. Another iQoo 12 (16/512 GB) costs CNY 4,299, about Rs. 50,000. The top model with 16GB of RAM and 1TB of storage is priced at CNY 4,699, about Rs. 53,000.
iQoo 12 Pro Key Features
The iQoo 12 Pro comes with a 6.78-inch Quad HD+ Samsung E7 AMOLED screen that supports 144Hz refresh rate, up to 1,600 nits of peak brightness in HBM mode (up to 3,000 nits in regular mode), and 1,440 Hz PWM dimming. The iQoo 12 Pro also features the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 SoC with up to 16GB of LPDDR5X RAM and 1TB of UFS 4.0 storage.
The camera system on the smartphone is similar to the regular version. However, there are a few differences, including an IP68 water and dust resistance rating, support for 50W wireless charging, and an ultrasonic in-display fingerprint scanner. Further, the iQoo 12 Pro also features a larger 5,100 mAh battery that supports the same wired charging speed. It is the larger battery that makes the phone weigh 205 grams, while the regular version weighs 198.5 grams.
iQoo 12 Pro Price
The iQoo 12 Pro (16/256 GB) costs CNY 4,999, or Rs. 57,000, whereas the iQoo 12 Pro (16/512 GB) costs CNY 5,499 or Rs. 64,000. The top model, with 16GB of RAM and 1TB of storage, costs CNY 5,999, or Rs. 68,000.
The iQoo 12 series will debut in India on December 12, 2023.
