Is Teddy Bridgewater playing on Thursday night? Fantasy injury update for Broncos-Browns Week 7 Thursday Night Football

Teddy Bridgewater made his way back from the concussion protocol in time for last week’s game, but this week he’s battling a foot injury that has left his status — at least in his mind — in doubt. He’s officially “questionable” for Thursday Night Football against the Browns. Bridgewater is normally not much of a consideration for fantasy football lineups, but given the glut of key QB byes, it’s possible some owners were looking to streaming him. He’s technically a game-time decision, so fantasy owners will undoubtedly be looking for updates on whether he’s playing, as a Drew Lock start will make the Broncos’ other skills players slightly less desirable and the Browns’ D/ST more attractive.

We’ll continue to update this article with news on Bridgewater up until the official active/inactive report comes out on Thursday around 6:50 p.m. ET. For all the latest fantasy updates, follow us on Twitter @SN_Fantasy.

Is Teddy Bridgewater playing on Thursday night?

Bridgewater struggled last week until late, and it’s unclear how much being in the concussion protocol and the foot injury had to do with that. His fantasy numbers (622 yards, five TDs) over the past two games have still been solid, but it’s clear that as the competition has picked up, his play has regressed.

Still, Bridgewater’s overall numbers are good enough to stand out on the waiver wire, so he might be in line as a streamer for a Dak Prescott, Justin Herbert, or Josh Allen owner this week. Given the weather worries, injury concerns, and the overall quality of the Browns defense, Bridgewater is a very risky start this week. Courtland Sutton and Noah Fant are tough to sit — and Tim Patrick figures to be a WR3 given all the byes — but even with that said, Bridgewater has a low ceiling. It’s unlikely all of those guys have good games, but they have more of a chance than Bridgewater, especially in PPR leagues.

If Bridgewater is out, Drew Lock will start. We’ve seen enough of Lock in his career to ignore him in single-QB season-long leagues. He has a strong arm and is certainly capable of putting up big numbers, but the mistakes are too frequent and the big players too rare. He would hurt the potential of Patrick, though once again, Sutton and Fant are tough to sit. Cleveland’s D/ST, which will already be started by many owners, is even more of a “must-play” if Lock is under center.
