The upcoming fantasy anime Ishura has revealed a new teaser trailer and visual, along with an additional cast member and production staff. The anime is based on the acclaimed light novels by Keiso and Kureta, and will be directed by Yuki Ogawa (Mieruko-chan) at studio Passione and Sanzigen. The chief director of the anime is Takeo Takahashi, who has worked Spice and Wolf and Citrus before. Disney+ will exclusively stream the anime adaptation worldwide from January 2024.
The new trailer gives us a glimpse of the world of Ishura, which is populated by demigods that are strong enough to defeat the Demon King. The world now belongs to these demigods, who have different powers and each wield various weapons such as a lance, sword, and even magic. There is an all-out battle between them now to achieve the title of the “One True Hero.”
Characters in the anime include Soujiro the Willow-Sword, Yuno the Distant Talon Ars the Starrider, and more. A manga adaptation for Ishura written by Keiso and illustrated by Meguri is also been published since March 2021 in Monthly Shonen Magazine.
