The highly anticipated IPL media rights auction is now officially over. The winner of the various bids have been announced for the next 5 year cycle – 2023 to 2027. There were a total of four different packages (A-D) that were bid for with various subsections.
Disney Star, Viacom18 and Times Internet bagged the various rights to broadcast IPL matches over the next 5 seasons on TV and digital platforms.
The total revenue which will be generated over the next 5 years thanks to the sale of these broadcast rights for 2023-2027 is a staggering Rs 48,390.50 Crore.

Package A: TV rights for the Indian subcontinent
Package B: Digital rights for the Indian subcontinent
Package C: Non-exclusive digital package (98 matches for full 5 year cycle)
18 matches for seasons 2023 and 2024 each (opening match+four playoff matches+13 double header games) – Calculated as per existing 74 matches in all
20 matches for seasons 2025 and 2026 each (for potential 84 matches in all for these two seasons)
22 matches for 2027 season (for potential 94 matches in all for this season)

Package D: Overseas TV and Digital rights (5 sectors – Middle East & North Africa+US+UK+Australia+SA)
