Jadon Sancho hints at Erik ten Hag ceasefire as Man Utd ace makes online gesture

Manchester United star Jadon Sancho has deleted his pinned tweet where he publicly disagreed with comments made about his training levels by Erik ten Hag. The winger is said to have met with his manager earlier this week in order to try and resolve the issue, and those talks appear to have been positive.

Despite featuring prominently over the summer, Sancho has played just 76 minutes of Premier League football this season and is yet to start a match. The Englishman was not named on the bench to face Arsenal by Ten Hag prior to the international break, prompting speculation that he has continued to fall down the pecking order at Old Trafford.

Quizzed on the decision, the ex-Ajax manager explained that the forward was not reaching the required ‘level’ in training and that his standards were not being met on a daily basis. Sancho did not take kindly to the comments though and wasted no time by responding within a matter of hours.

He wrote: “I will not allow people saying things that is completely untrue, I have conducted myself in training very well this week. I believe there are other reasons for this matter that I won’t go into, I’ve been a scapegoat for a long time which isn’t fair!

“All I want to do is play football with a smile on my face and contribute to my team. I respect all decisions that are made by the coaching staff, I play with fantastic players and grateful to do so which I know every week is a challenge.” The post was then pinned to the very top of his X (Twitter) profile despite reports highlighting that the message had sparked uproar at Old Trafford and the public bust-up was viewed as a significant issue.

However, nine days later (Tuesday), the post has now been deleted by Sancho in a public gesture that suggests that the ex-Borussia Dortmund star is willing to repair the relationship with his manager.

Sancho is said to have met with Ten Hag earlier this week to discuss the matter, and removing the post would indicate that the 23-year-old is willing to compromise on his stance in the hope of returning to the first-team sooner rather than later.

The England international could be called upon as early as this weekend when his side host Brighton. It was announced that first-choice right winger Antony will not return to the squad until further notice as he looks to address allegations of assault and domestic abuse, which he has publicly denied.
