James Gunn Breaks Silence on DC Universe Showcase Event Rumors
James Gunn and Peter Safran have brought about some huge changes, ever since they were named co-CEOs of DC Studios. One of the most notable ones being Henry Cavill stepping down from the role of Superman to make way for a younger Man of Steel. He has received major backlash from the fans for doing so, but in the end, he claimed that it was a tough decision that would help the universe he is building.
Many fans are extremely curious about what Gunn and Safran have been brewing under the wraps. As of now, we do not know what rests in the future of the DC Universe.
For a brief period of time, fans thought that they will receive a specific event that will showcase all that is planned for the coming years. Gunn has only been providing updates through his social media accounts, so an actual event would’ve really livened things up.
Sadly, through one of his latest threads, it has been learned that there is no such showcase planned for the DC Universe. What we were hearing about the event were just rumours or speculation.
In one of his recent tweets that consisted of an image of some cheesy delicacies, one fan asked whether it was true that Warner Bros. Discovery was planning to host an event to reveal more information on new releases. This showcase was scheduled to arrive on January 6, 2023. James Gunn replied to the question in the most brief manner, stating, “It is not.”
It is not.

Unfortunately, the showcase we were expecting will not be taking place. However, this does not remove the possibility of a showcase happening in the future. Fans will just have to be patient and wait for Gunn and Safran to figure out stuff before they announce it to the general public.
