Last year, JFF organised the Japan Film & Music Festival, where it featured four films by Makoto Shinkai and performances by Radwimps. In May this year, PVR Pictures hosted the Makoto Shinkai Film Festival, which screened five of his films, including Suzume.
The Japanese Film Festival, which started in 2016 in ASEAN countries and Australia, expanded to China and India in 2017. This annual festival screens a variety of recently released films and modern classics in multiple cities. JFF also offers online streaming of films on its website.
