Actor Jeremy Renner met with a horrific accident right at the start of the year, when he was almost crushed under his snowcat as he tried to save his nephew from it. The Hakweye actor suffered some serious injuries- resulting in over 30 broken bones. New bodycam footage has now been obtained showing rescuers rushing to save the Hawkeye star, right after the tragic accident.
Bodycam footage showing aftermath of the accident has surfaced
In the new video that has surfaced, we can see medics rushing into the accident spot to provide life-saving aid to the actor. We can see the actor lying on the ground surrounded by the first responders. He was reportedly using a snowcat to pull his nephew’s car out of the snow. After he got out of the vehicle, he realized that the 7 tonne Pistenbully was sliding sideways towards his nephew. He rushed in between in an “attempt to stop or divert the Pistenbully” and got stuck under the tread.
We can see his nephew Alex Fries telling the deputies at the scene, pointing to where it all happened. “He got out to tell me something, and then that’s when it started coming at me like full force. He tried to jump on it, and it took him under”, describes Fries. Next, we can see one of the deputies mentioning a beanie hat that he found under the plow. Renner undoubtedly cheated death by a few inches.
It’s been more than four months since the incident, and Jeremy Renner has been steadily recovering. One of the latest updates that we received from him would be a video of him walking on an anti-gravity treadmill. He has also talked about his near-death experience in a recent interview, and how he even considered that he might not make it out of the aftermath. He said that he was even prompted to write “goodbye notes” for his family on his phone.
While it might be a while before Renner is back up on his feet and ready for work, fans of the actor can expect to see some his new work this year, including the miniseries Rennervations, which launched earlier this month. It is a docuseries about Renner as he goes around the world with his team rebuilding decommissioned vehicles for new purposes.
