Jio, Airtel, and Vi have increased the prices of their prepaid recharge plans in India and the packs are now up to 25 percent more expensive than before. While Airtel and Vi’s plans start at Rs 99 for all customers, Jio prepaid plans for all begin at Rs 155 as it doesn’t have a plan under Rs 100. The Reliance-backed telecom network does offer a plan at Rs 91 but that is limited to Jio Phone customers. Just like before, Airtel, Vi, and Jio prepaid plans have multiple prepaid tariffs at various price points, giving users a choice to pick from. In this article, we will be comparing the sub-Rs 200 prepaid plans from Jio, Airtel, and Vi.
Airtel, Vi, and Jio plans under Rs 200
Airtel and Vi have a single sub-Rs 200 plan, which is the Rs 179 pack. Jio, on the other hand, has two offerings – Rs 155 and Rs 179. In addition to prepaid benefits, telecom networks are also offering access to content platforms. While Airtel and Vi’s new prices are already effective, Jio plans will come into force from December 1st. Here’s how these plans compare against each other.
Airtel Rs 179 prepaid recharge pack: Airtel’s Rs 179 prepaid plan, which was earlier available at Rs 149, offers a validity of 28 days, 300 SMS, and 2GB of total data. The pack has a validity of 28 days. It offers a free Amazon Prime Video mobile edition subscription for 30 days, free caller tunes, and Wynk Music access.
Vi Rs 179 prepaid recharge pack: Vi also has a plan priced at Rs 179. It offers a similar 28-day validity, 2GB of total data and 300 SMS for the entire plan validity, and unlimited calls to any network. It offers access to Vi Movies & TV Basic.
Jio Rs 179 prepaid recharge pack: Jio’s Rs 179 offers a slightly better value for money. It offers 1GB of data per day, a 24-day validity, unlimited calls to any network, and 100 SMS per day. This brings the entire data count to 24GB and 2400 SMSes for 24 days, which is far higher than the 2GB data and 300 SMS that the Airtel and Vi plans offer. Additionally, the Jio plan offers access to Jio TV, Jio Cinema, and Jio Cloud platforms as well.

Conclusion
When compared to Airtel and Vi, Jio’s Rs 179 plan offers better value for money. Though it has a 24-day validity, the pack gives more 4G data (24GB vs 2GB with Airtel and Vi) and SMSes. So if high-speed 4G data and affordability is your primary requirement, the Jio Rs 179 plan is a perfect pick among the three.
