Joshua warned he’d lose to heavyweight ‘animal’ Joyce loves

Esteemed boxing manager Sam Jones believes fast-rising prospect Bakhodir Jalolov could beat Anthony Joshua right now. The 28-year-old won the Olympic gold medal in the super-heavyweight division at the 2020 Tokyo games and is among the most highly rated up-and-comers in the sport.

Jones sees Jalolov’s great coordination, knockout power, nimble footwork, and fast hands being too much for many of the heavyweight’s best fighters including AJ.

Speaking to Express Sport, he said: “Jalolov is literally the future of the heavyweight division, he is an animal. Watch out for Jalolov, he is coming for everyone in the heavyweight division, he is a dangerous man.”

Among his greatest admirers is WBO interim champion Joe Joyce who has always talked up his talents to the S-Jam Boxing founder.

Jones continued: “In 12 months’ time, we can have this conversation again but anyone outside of the top three, four, Jalolov beats now. I believe he beats Anthony Joshua now; I believe Bakhodir Jalolov beats Anthony Joshua now.”

So far as a professional the Uzbek puncher is 11-0 with 11 stoppages. He became only the fourth man to stop the extremely durable and criminally underrated Kamil Sokolowski in March and followed this up with one of the best knockouts of the year against Belgium’s Jack Mulowayi three months later.

Jalolov continues his rise through the ranks with Probellum and DiBella Entertainment with his next fight expected to be announced imminently according to Jones. He has fought in Dubai, Uzbekistan, Mexico, and America with a British debut pending at the time of writing.
