Kane’s wife ‘in Munich to view houses and schools’ in hint star will quit Spurs
Harry Kane’s wife Katie Goodland has reportedly started looking at houses and schools in Germany ahead of her husband’s potential move to Bayern Munich. The 30-year-old is in the final year of his contract at Tottenham and may depart this summer with Bayern having made multiple offers for the centre-forward.
Spurs are said to have a ‘gentleman’s agreement’ with their skipper that they will let him go ahead of next season providing it is to a team outside of the Premier League and that they match the club’s £100million asking price for their star striker.
Tottenham are still holding out hope that they will be able to entice Kane into staying and have offered him a fresh contract worth at least £300,000 a week. But it is understood that Kane isn’t willing to commit his future to his boyhood club and wants a new challenge.
The Bavarian giants have had two bids turned down for Kane with their latest offer being worth £68.5m plus add-ons. A third bid is expected to be submitted in the coming days and Kane’s representatives remain optimistic that he will make the move to Germany – as too is his wife.
According to Sport BILD, Katie has been out in Munich with other family members looking at properties and international schools in the district of Grunwald in Bavaria. PSG are also believed to be interested in acquiring Kane’s services but Bayern remain the frontrunners to snap him up.
When asked about Kane’s situation during a recent press conference, Spurs boss Ange Postecoglou said: “Fair to say I am not relaxed about it! It’s not something you go: ‘Ah, well, you know if it does or doesn’t happen!’ I mean it’s a very important part of this football club. Not just the team, but the football club.
“So, you’ve got to deal with it, and I think, for everyone concerned, we don’t want to be doing it for too long. I don’t think that is good for anyone. I don’t think it is good for Harry, I don’t think it is good for the club, because as laser-focused as we want to be, you end up sort of repeating yourself along the way.
“But the flip side of that is I don’t want to put a deadline on it because that adds even more pressure. You want these things to happen for the right reasons. The reality of it is he’s still a contracted player at our football club, so that’s the way I see him.
“It’s not like his contract is ending on the 12th [of August] and he’s got to make a decision, he’s got another year. So from that part, I am not relaxed but I am not putting pressure on him or anyone else at the football club, saying ‘well we need to do this’. But I don’t think deep down any of us want it to go on for too long.”
