King the Land Finally Hits Netflix India After Month-Long Delay for Hindi Dub

King the Land, the K-drama starring Lee Jun-ho and Im Yoon-ah, has finally arrived at Netflix in India on July 13th. Despite premiering on June 18 in South Korea and other countries, Indian fans had to wait for Netflix to prepare a Hindi dub for the show.

Not only King the Land, but another Korean drama, See You In My 19^th Life, also faced delays in their release on Netflix in India due to the unavailability of a Hindi dub on the world premiere day. While viewers in other countries had the opportunity to enjoy these shows, Indian audiences had to wait for the arrival of the series.

What is King the Land about?

King the Land is a romantic comedy that explores the themes of family, loss, and redemption. It is set against the backdrop of the Korean chaebol system, and it offers a glimpse into the lives of the wealthy and powerful.

The show features Goo Won (Jun-ho), the heir to King Group, a chaebol. Won is serious and never smiles, and his standoffishness may be due to his mother’s disappearance years ago. Sa-rang (Yoon-ah) is a new employee at King Hotel, and she is always smiling and enthusiastic. She loves the hotel, where she went with her mother as a child, and she is determined to do her best.

Won and Sa-rang clash at first. Won can’t stand Sa-rang’s “fake” smile, and Sa-rang can’t stand Won’s bad attitude. But their frequent squabbles cause the pair to become better acquainted, and they start to fall for each other. Even though the two are opposites in many ways, they also have a lot in common. They are both determined and hardworking, and they both have a strong sense of justice. As they get to know each other, they start to see each other’s good qualities, and they begin to fall in love.

King the Land got in hot water over insensitive portrayal of Arab culture

King the Land has faced criticism for depicting an Arab character as a womaniser and heavy drinker. Furthermore, the show also received flak for casting an Indian actor, Anupam Tripathi of Squid Game fame, to play the character of Samir.
