Apart from Bhawna, Kohli’s wife and actor Anushka also cheered for him and was seen clapping in the stands and showered flying kisses on him. The particular moment was also caught on camera.
Kohli at the presentation said, after slamming a ton in the match against GT, “We would have taken that with both hands once we were five wickets down. We pretty much pulled things back towards the end. Close to 200 is a winnable score for me. It’s upon the bowlers to execute. I felt great. A lot of people think that my T20 cricket is declining, but I don’t think so. I look to hit gaps and then the big ones towards the end. You have to read situations and rise up to the situations. I feel really good about my game at the moment. Spin wasn’t easy to get away from. There’s enough on this pitch for our bowlers. What matters is to stay in the present. I wasn’t focusing on the rain, focused on what I need to do for the team.”
Due to Kohli century, RCB managed to put 197 on the scoreboard in the crucial match, but Gujarat Titan’s Shubman Gill payed a spoilsport and scored a century too. This ensured RCB ouster from the IPL play-offs of IPL.
Now on 23 May, Gujarat Titans will play with Chennai Super Kings, while Lucknow Super Giants will face Mumbai Indians on 26 May.
