Lara Croft is taking another shot at mobile this month with Tomb Raider Reloaded

It’ll be tough to match the excellence of Tomb Raider GO

Yesterday, we told you about the upcoming Street Fighter game that’s launching on mobile. Today, it’s Tomb Raider‘s turn. Lara Croft is set to return to iOS and Android devices this month with Tomb Raider Reloaded. Featuring the voice talents of Keeley Hawes and a look that harkens back to the golden era of this franchise, Reloaded sees gaming’s most famous treasure hunter pillaging more ancient ruins in search of stuff to keep at her mansion. This time around, the locations she’ll explore–which include famous locations like St. Francis’ Folly and the Lost Valley–are procedurally generated. That’s right, this game is a roguelike, and as you can see from the Tomb Raider Reloaded trailer below, it doesn’t look too bad.

After having Lara Croft go through more “realistic” adventures, it’s nice to see her back doing what she does best: fighting dinosaurs. Developed by Emerald City Games in collaboration with Crystal Dynamics – Eidos, Tomb Raider Reloaded will feature all the acrobatics Lara Croft is known for, as well as classic enemies, traps, and puzzles. Players will be able to upgrade Lara with new equipment and XP, and like every other free-to-play game on mobile, the developers hope to keep you booting the game up daily with events and challenges. Cellist Tina Guo, who was a featured soloist on the Grammy-nominated Journey soundtrack, is spearheading orchestral recordings of classic Tomb Raider songs for the game.

Tomb Raider Reloaded will launch worldwide on February 14, 2023. You can download it for iOS or Android, and if you have a Netflix subscription, you can access the game without any of the ads and microtransactions found in the free-to-play version.
