Latest iOS 16.2 and macOS 13.1 beta introduces the Freeform app | Digit

Apple released iOS 16.2 beta 1 to developers today. However, while the update has a lot of bug-fixing work left, everyone is eager to try out the new Freeform app. Freeform is a brand-new product from Apple that was introduced during WWDC22. It is a collaborative support productivity app that functions like a digital whiteboard. Users can doodle and add text, pictures, web links, video, audio, and more using Freeform. The app is available across multiple platforms, including iOS 16.2 beta 1, iPadOS 16.2 beta 1, and macOS 13.1 beta 1.

Features of the Freeform App

According to Apple, Freeform will give endless possibilities to the users to pen down ideas, brainstorm, create a family tree, or make a mood board. While you can complete projects independently, the real benefit of Freeform gets unveiled when working with a group. Since the space is built for collaboration, every aspect of the app works seamlessly between users. Users can add music, website links, images, movies, and doodles with their Apple pencils. All the functions of the app work in real-time and allow everyone to join via an iPhone, iPad, or computer with macOS. However, as the Freeform app is a part of the beta version, there can be some issues and bug fixes required.

Apple has two issues listed – first, the users cannot delete any boards while offline or if iCloud data is disabled for the app, and second, adding and removing collaborators aren’t working smoothly, and users can face trouble if share permissions are changed. However, the company will fix the issues in its next update.
