Leak Reveals Skate 4 Playtest Build

Skate 4 is game that we know too much about before the game has even released. Players already know about the new physics system and the sprawling open world that they will be introduced to in the new game. A playtest build for the game had leaked previously, where players learned a bit about the gameplay, the open world and other details about the Skate 4. We also know that the game will be free-to-play.

Now, a new Playtest build has been leaked and it can be found on the subreddit, r/GamingLeaksAndRumours. The leak comes from u/Parzalai, who was also responsible for leaking the previous playtest build for the title. He was banned for leaking this information, but now he has arrived with more footage to show the people. His leak consists of a game file screenshot as well as gameplay footage.

At the start of the video a disclaimer that tells players to provide feedback on the good, bad and the overall experience they had through the playtest. They have also been told that this playtest is confidential and players should not post any content related to it. In the gameplay footage, players can clearly see that this is a playtest build and close to no textures have been added to the game.

The game starts of with a tutorial, at the right hand bottom of the screen, the players will be able to see the things they can do with the D-pad, such as emotes, chat, quick drop and session related stuff. The player then goes on to pulling some stunts such as ollies and grinds. We get to see the new physics system in action where the player is not able to pull off a heel flip successfully and ends up falling down.

Players will also be able to see how big the open-world is in the game and all the various areas they will be able to visit, such as the North Hills, Financial District, The Wharfs, and Civic Center. Bus Stops can be used for fast travel, there are various challenges across the map that can be completed. There is also a ‘Collabo Zone’ where players from the same session can meet up and have some fun together.

The test build also shows us the character customisation options, unfortunately there were no textures so we couldn’t see it in action. The game is pretty much the same from what we saw in the previous playtest leak, the only difference is that it is much more fluid and a lot of the bugs and glitches have been fixed, other than that we haven’t seen any gigantic changes to the game.
