Leaked Video Shows Google Pixel 8 Pro with an Infrared Thermometer
Google Pixel 8 series is getting gimmicky and stuff. The upcoming Google Pixel 8 Pro has been spotted to arrive with a built-in infrared thermometer on the back. Yes, you heard it right, there will be a contactless thermometer on the Pixel 8 Pro housed on the aluminum strip that runs through the back housing the rear camera setup as well.
The video was posted by 91Mobiles and tipster Kuba Wojciechowski although it was later removed by Google through a copyright claim.
Talking about Google Pixel 8 Pro design, the video shows Pixel 8 Pro with a triple rear camera housed in a huge pill-shaped notch. There’s a LED flash cutout at the back and a white-colored cut-out which is the contactless infrared thermometer onboard.
It was the same as other infrared thermometers. You will have to place it closer to your forehead or skin but not touch it. Tap on the ‘Start’ button on-screen and the sensor will take five seconds to detect the temperature. Of course, the thermometer isn’t just for the forehead but you can detect the temperature of other areas as well as objects such as boiling water in a bowl, etc.
Google Pixel 8 series is likely to debut in October this year. The Google Pixel 8 Pro that we mentioned above is likely to come with a 6.52” display and a processor with the codename Zuma or Google Tensor G3. It will use Samsung’s largest ISOCELL GN2 sensor onboard as the primary snapper. There’s a standard Google Pixel 8 as well that will make it to the public during the October launch.
