Leaks Suggest Metal Gear Solid 4 May Finally Make It To Other Systems

With the Metal Gear Solid: Master Collection Vol. 1 around the corner, it appears that Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots may be getting a port too. But it’s possible it will be part of a future Metal Gear Solid bundle.

Twitter user Nitroid (via IGN) posted their findings after inspecting the collection’s official website. Data in the files appear to show that more Metal Gear Solid games, including 4, are planned for the future.

A large reason why fans of the franchise may be excited about an MGS4 port is that it originally came out in 2008 on the PlayStation 3 and, since then, has not released on other systems. But it’s also worth pointing out that the series creator, Hideo Kojima, will not be involved in porting these games to current-gen consoles.

Metal Gear Solid: Master Collection Vol. 1 is scheduled to come out on October 24 for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch, and PC for $60. The bundle will include the following games–Metal Gear Solid, Metal Gear Solid 2: Sons of Liberty, Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater, Both versions of the original Metal Gear, Metal Gear 2: Solid Snake, and Snake’s Revenge.
