Lenovo launches 12th-Gen Intel Core laptops in Yoga and Legion series
Lenovo has got some impressive lineups of gaming and non-gaming laptops available in the market as of now. Well, the Chinese maker has added a bunch of new models dubbed Yoga 7i and 7i Pro, Yoga 9i, IdeaPad Gaming 3i, Lenovo Slim 7i, Lenovo 5i, and 5i Pro. All these models were launched in India earlier on Tuesday powered by 12th-hen Intel Core SoCs. Here’s more about these models that you should know before you buy them.
Pricing and Availability
Lenovo has reprised its three major series aka Yoga and Legion with a few models. Starting the Legion series, we have a Legion 5i starting at INR 1,44,990/- in India and will be available in Storm Gray color. The Legion 5i Pro available in the same colorway is priced at INR 1,64,990/-. Finally, the Legion Slim 7i is priced at INR 1,50,990/-.
The next to join is the Lenovo IdeaPad Gaming 3i available in a single Onyx Gray colorway and price starting at INR 84,990/-.
The third is the Lenovo Yoga series starting with the Yoga 7i at INR 1,14,990/-, the Yoga Slim 7i Pro is priced at a slightly lower INR 1,06,990/-. Finally, the expensive Lenovo Yoga 9i is priced at INR 1,69,00/-. The three will be available in three colorways – Slate Gray, Storm Gray, and Oatmeal.
When it comes to the available, the trio series will be available from July 13th onwards on pre-orders across Lenovo Exclusive stores and Lenovo.com (online channel) while the availability across other online and offline channels will commence on July 23rd i.e. Prime Day on Amazon India.
Lenovo Legion 5i, 5i Pro, and Slim 7i Specifications
The high-octane series comprising Legion 5i, 5i Pro, and Slim 7i is powered by a 12th-gen Intel Core i7-12700H SoC that can get you to a max frequency of up to 4.6GHz. There’s an NVIDIA GeForce RTXTM 3060 GPU on the 5i and 5i Pro whereas the Slim 7i gets an NVIDIA GeForce RTXTM 3050 GPU that handles the graphics while there’s 6GB GDDR6 VRAM onboard on the 5i series while Slim 7i gets a 4GB GDRR6 RAM. You have up to 512GB M.2 SSD storage and 32GB DDR5 RAM on the Legion 5i.
The Lenovo Legion 5i brings onboard a 15.6” WQHD IPS panel boasting a 2560×1440 pixels resolution and 300 nits of peak brightness. It has a 165Hz refresh rate onboard with a 100% sRGB color gamut. You can get up to 512GB M.2 SSD and up to 32GB of DDR5 RAM.
The Legion 5i Pro, on the other hand, gets a 16-inch WQXGA IPS panel with a 2560×1600 pixels resolution along with a 165Hz refresh rate and a 100% of sRGB color gamut. It produces 500 nits of peak brightness on its display and gets up to 1TB M.2 SSD storage with up to 32GB dual-channel DDR5 RAM storage. The Slim 7i has the same display configuration along with SSD storage. There’s up to up to 24GB of DDR5 RAM (8GB soldered and 16GB of SO-DIMM) onboard.
Lenovo Yoga 7i, Slim 7i Pro, Yoga 9i Specifications
When it comes to the Yoga series, the trio Yoga 7i, Slim 7i Pro, and Yoga 9i have certain similarities. There’s a 12th-gen Intel Core i7-1260P SoC clocked at up to 4.7GHz on both 7i and Slim 7i Pro while the 9i gets a Core i7-1280P SoC at up to 4.8GHz max frequency with an integrated Intel Iris Xe graphics. The trio sports 16GB of soldered LPDDR5 RAM with up to 1TB of M.2 SSD storage on both Yoga 7i and 9i while the Slim 7i Pro has 512GB of M.2 storage, although the Yoga 7i has non-upgradable RAM storage.
Talking about the display tech, the Lenovo Yoga 7i, and Slim 7i Pro get a 2.8K 14-inch panel with 400 nits of peak brightness with a 90Hz refresh rate although the distinction is the former has an OLED panel while the latter get an IPS panel. The Yoga 9i gets a 14-inch WQUXGA OLED panel with DCI-P3 color space.
Lenovo IdeaPad Gaming 3
Well, this is the last model to launch officially on Tuesday. It gets a 12th-gen Intel Core i7-12650H panel with up to 4.7GHz of turbo max frequency, an RTXTM 3050 graphics, 4GB GDDR6 VRAM, 512GB of M.2D SSD storage, and 16GB DDR4-3200 RAM. It is a full-fledged 15.6-inch FHD IPS panel 165Hz refresh rate with up to 300 nits of peak brightness among others.
