COLUMBIA, Ky. – For the third straight season, the No. 1-ranked Lindsey Wilson football team advances to the NAIA FCS Semifinals after the Blue Raiders (12-0) defeated No. 11 Keiser (Fla.) 54-12 Saturday afternoon.

Cameron Dukes was named the NAIA FCS Quarterfinal Offensive Player of the Game after throwing for 268 yards for four touchdowns on the day. He also added 39 yards on the ground for a touchdown. After today’s game, Dukes officially recorded over 10,000 passing yards in his Lindsey Wilson career.  Cashawn Beasley was named NAIA FCS Quarterfinal Defensive Player of the Game after recording six total tackles and a blocked punt.

The Blue Raiders opened the scoring in the match with a safety after Dukes punted for 55-yards pinning the Seahawks at their own two-yard line. On second down, the Lindsey Wilson defense successfully prevented the run from Marques Burgess, bringing him down in the endzone for the 2-0 lead. Four minutes later, Ian Sauter grew that lead after converting a 28-yard field goal to make it 5-0.

Lindsey Wilson didn’t score a touchdown until around 3:30 left in the first quarter when Dukes found D’Mauriae VanCleave with a 29-yard pass in the corner of the endzone to make it 12-0.

The Blue Raiders continued to push the gap into the second quarter after Dukes combined with Joshua Lewis to start the second quarter completing a four-play drive for 70-yards that made it 19-0 to the hosts.

The Seahawks finally found some good fortune of their own later in the quarter as they drove 84-yards in 13 plays to find the endzone and stop the bleeding. The good fortune was short lived however as the team failed to convert their point after attempt leaving it at 19-6 for the Blue Raiders.

Lindsey Wilson finished off the half with two touchdown passes and a run from Dukes including a play that deflected off the shoulder pad of a Keiser defender, into the air, and into the waiting arms of Logan Collier in the endzone in a wild sequence of events. At the break, the Blue Raiders held a dominant advantage of 40-6.

Lindsey Wilson only scored once in the third quarter after Jaylen Boyd got his one and only rushing touchdown of the afternoon. Boyd capped off a five-play drive running seven yards to the endzone to make it 47-6. After today’s game, Boyd has officially recorded over 3,500 rushing yards in his Lindsey Wilson career.

In the final quarter of play the Seahawks found the endzone again through Jaden Meizinger after a three-yard pass from quarterback Shea Spencer. Spencer proceeded to take the kick for the point after attempt, but it was successfully blocked by the Blue Raider defense leaving the score at 47-12.

Jbias Dawson scored the lone touchdown in the fourth quarter for Lindsey Wilson after he finished off a 52-yard rush to the endzone to give the Blue Raiders the victory and final score of 54-12.

The Lindsey Wilson football team will host the NAIA FCS Semifinals on Saturday. Game time and opponent will be released later today.
