Liverpool team news: Expected XI as Jurgen Klopp makes three changes despite Arsenal win

Liverpool will hope to use the momentum of reaching the Carabao Cup final as they travel to in-form Crystal Palace on Sunday. Diogo Jota’s brace secured a 2-0 win at Arsenal in the semi-final of the competition, with the Reds set to face Chelsea at Wembley Stadium on February 27.

Express Sport has a look at who Klopp might pick to play Palace.

Goalkeeper: Alisson

Alisson Becker is likely to come back into the team after Caoimhin Kelleher played in the Carabao Cup.

The Brazilian has been Klopp’s No. 1 since his move from Roma in 2019.

He has kept an impressive 10 clean sheets in 16 Premier League outings.

Liverpool face a Palace side who have scored in all but one of their last seven fixtures across all competitions.

JUST IN: Why are there no Premier League games next weekend?

Defenders: Alexander-Arnold, Konate, Van Dijk, Robertson

Klopp may only choose to make one outfield change following the victory over Arsenal, with very few options to choose from.

Ibrahima Konate replaced Joel Matip at half-time at the Emirates Stadium and partnered Virgil van Dijk.

The Frenchman performed well and struck the post with a cleverly guided header.

Trent Alexander-Arnold’s excellent assist for Jota’s second goal against the Gunners took him to 15 in 24 games this term.

Attackers: Minamino, Firmino, Jota

Klopp has gone with a couple of front-three variations since losing Salah and Mane to the Africa Cup of Nations.

The 17-year-old starlet Kaide Gordon started against Arsenal but was quiet. He will likely drop out at Selhurst Park.

Klopp may instead choose to use Takumi Minamino, who might have been upset to see a teenager start ahead of him in a big game.

Jota was excellent in midweek and his two goals took him to 14 for the season.

Roberto Firmino glued together the attack very well, and did some excellent defensive work. He will surely lead the line against Palace with Jota to the left.
