Looking to Get Into Crypto Mining? Intel’s New Chip Will Be the Ideal Purchase for Doing That
Intel recently announced a new line of products with an emphasis on the world of blockchain and cryptocurrency mining.
The company revealed their new chip in the Agilex M-Series FPGA, which uses Intel 7 manufacturing process technology. The new M-Series chip is Intel’s latest attempt at providing more performance and power efficiency, especially for cryptocurrency miners after announcing the Bonanza Mining BMZ1 chip earlier this year.
Intel had previously sold FGPA products with the F-Series and I-Series, and they provides a serious power boost with the company claiming that 2x better fabric performance per watt compared to their competitors in the same market.

According to Intel, the M-Series FPGAs provides the highest memory bandwidth in the industry because of the in-package HBM2e DRAM. Along with that, it also features controllers for DDR4, DDR5 and LPDDR5 as well. It also comes with two hardened memory network-on-chip (NoC) that connects the FPGA fabric to the in-package HBM2e DRAM and other onboard memory resources like the external DDR5 SDRAM, and the FPGA’s high-speed external I/O.
Other than that, the new FPGA from Intel will be quite fast to process highly demanding applications in data centers, with support for PCI Express Gen5, Computer Express Link, 400G Ethernet, along with serial transceivers operating up to 116 Gbps.
Other than its use in the world of cryptocurrency, Intel has noted that the M-Series FPGAs will be useful in wireless and wireline transmissions, along with the aerospace and defense sectors as well.
