Mahalingam Kandhavel ousts top seed Tejas Ahuja
Mahalingam Kandhavel was clever and crafty as he knocked out the top seed Tejas Ahuja 6-4, 6-1 in the under-16 boys second round of the Fenesta National sub-junior tennis championship at the DLTA Complex on Tuesday.
Having won the under-18 doubles title with Rethin Pranav, Mahalingam was quite sharp and toyed with his opponent with a deceptive game.
In the girls sectionb, Yashika turned the match around midway to beat Manognya Madasu 2-6, 7-6(5), 6-2, while Mahika Khanna pipped Aleena Farid 4-6, 6-1, 7-6(4).
