Major League Cricket: MI New York crush Los Angeles Knight Riders for first win – Times of India
NEW DELHI: A swashbuckling unbeaten knock by Tim David followed by superb bowling powered MI New York to a massive 105-run victory over Los Angeles Knight Riders in their Major League Cricket match at the Grand Prairie Stadium in Dallas on Sunday.
Chasing a 156-run target, Los Angeles Knight Riders were bundled out for just 50 runs in 13.5 overs thanks to a disciplined bowling performance by the MI New York bowlers.
AS IT HAPPENED: Los Angeles Knight Riders vs MI New York
Opting to bat, MI New York were in trouble losing 5 wickets with just 77 runs on the board. But Nicholas Pooran hit a 37-ball 38 to take his team close to the 100-run mark before falling to Ali Khan.

But the late thrust to the MI New York innings was provided by Tim David who smashed 4 sixes and 4 fours in his unbeaten 48 off 21 balls. 2 off those sixes came in the last over of the MI New York innings that was bowled by Andre Russell and took the team to a challenging total of 155/8.

The Los Angeles Knight Riders XI run chase got off to a poor start as they lost Martin Guptill falling leg before wicket against Nosthush Kenjige on the third ball of their innings.

A complete dominant performance with the ball saw all the five MI New York bowlers Nosthush Kenjige, Trent Boult, Kagiso Rabada, Ehsan Adil and captain Kieron Pollard taking 2 wickets each.
Only LA Knight Riders opener Unmukt Chand (26) managed to get to double figures while rest of the batsmen just couldn’t get their act together resulting in the dismal and forgettable performance.
