NEW DELHI: The Texas Super Kings beat San Francisco Unicorns by 3 wickets at Church Street Park in Morrisville on Monday to seal a place in the Major League Cricket playoffs.

Following their victory, the Super Kings rose to the second spot in the points table, while the Unicorns held onto the fifth spot.

Texas Super Kings chased down the 172-run target with 5 balls to spare with Milind Kumar top scoring with a 52-run knock and Daniel Sams chipping in with a 18-ball 42.
Opting to bat, Matthew Wade’s 30-ball 49 and Chaitanya Bishnoi’s 21-ball 35 enabled the San Francisco Unicorns to 171/8 in their 20 overs.

Right-arm fast bowler Gerald Coetzee starred with the ball for the Texas Super Kings taking 4/31 off his 4 overs.
Texas Super Kings lost their captain Faf du Plessis for a duck in their run chase but Devon Conway steadied the ship with a 30-run knock before his dismissal in the 9th over.

Milind Kumar slammed 2 sixes and 4 fours in his 42-ball 52 before he was dismissed by Haris Rauf in the 18th over.
Daniel Sams smashed 4 sixes and 2 fours in his 18-ball 42 before falling to Marcus Stoinis in the penultimate over.

But Calvin Savage hit the last ball of Stoinis’ over for a six to level the scores and Gerald Coetzee hit the winning run in the last over by Liam Plunkett to take their team through to the playoffs.
