Man Utd boss Solskjaer told he should be ‘disgusted’ by ‘awful’ Sir Alex Ferguson actions

Manchester United boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has been told that he should be ‘disgusted’ by the actions of legendary former manager Sir Alex Ferguson in the aftermath of the Red Devils’ humiliating 5-0 defeat by Liverpool. Solskjaer’s side were embarrassed against their north-west rivals and the Norwegian’s job is reportedly now hanging by a thread.

The former United striker has endured a tough period of form over the last couple of months but has seemingly been handed the chance to turn it around.

Defeat by Liverpool was United’s third in the Premier League already this season, leaving them way behind their title rivals. They trail league leaders Chelsea by eight points after only nine matches.

Solskjaer is set to take charge of Saturday’s visit to Tottenham but will need to improve results soon if he is to save his job.

He has supposedly received the vote of confidence from iconic ex-boss Ferguson, who is now a director at the club. However, Ferguson has come under fire for his actions in the wake of United’s humiliating loss against Liverpool.

“Can you imagine Alex Ferguson when he was a manager at Manchester United when they were having a bad run and all of a sudden Matt Busby walks out onto the training ground – Fergie would have gone absolutely ballistic.

“I don’t like that at all, that smells awful. If I’m Ole, I’d be disgusted with it.

“If I’m Ole and it’s me, I’ve got something to say.

“The reason Ole is in the position he is is because I don’t think Ole actually gets worked up, loses his rag, goes crazy, tells people what they should and shouldn’t be doing; because that’s what he should be doing now.

“He should be telling Alex and whoever sent Alex down there: ‘Excuse me, we don’t need you here’.”

Reports today however claimed that Ferguson was being fitted for a new club suit along with other club officials and never spoke to Solskjaer or any of the players during his time at Carrington on Tuesday.

United, meanwhile, will embark on a tough run of fixtures this week which could ultimately spell Solskjaer’s fate. After their visit to Spurs, they face rivals Manchester City in the Premier League while a crucial Champions League trip to Atalanta also awaits.
