Manchester United can sign Adrien Rabiot on a free transfer at the end of the season following Erik ten Hag’s strong interest in the player this summer. The 27-year-old has impressed for France at the World Cup but could soon be on the lookout for a new club with his contract at Juventus expiring in June 2023.
Rabiot was one of Ten Hag’s top targets over the summer after he turned his attention to other players following United’s failed pursuit of Frenkie de Jong. The club had a bid of around £15million accepted by Juventus but were unable to agree personal terms with the midfielder and his agent, his mother Veronique.
However, United have the opportunity to go back for him in 2023 with his contract at the Serie A giants expiring at the end of the season. The club could put the money they would have otherwise spent on a transfer fee into improving his personal terms in an attempt to convince him to make the move to Old Trafford.
The player himself has not been coy about the impending end of his contract at the Serie A giants, talking up England as a potential destination.

The Juventus star is highly likely to play alongside Aurelien Tchouameni in midfield again in the crunch semi-final clash against England but is unlikely to attract too much attention despite his good form. All eyes will be on Kylian Mbappe with the PSG ace widely tipped to be the difference maker on Saturday.
Despite this, Rabiot has been keen to stress that there is far more to the French team than the 23-year-old.
“We are not dependent on him,” Rabiot said. “He has amazing potential and we know that 90 per cent of the goals can maybe come from him. He is very fast, able to make great assists but we also have other players who can make a difference on the pitch in another way. We have a great weapon in Kylian and we’re not going to deprive ourselves of that.”
