Man Utd have four free agent options if Glazer sale saga hinders Erik ten Hag

Manchester United are still on the hunt for new signings ahead of the new campaign after snapping up Mason Mount from Chelsea and Andre Onana from Inter Milan. But frustrations are bubbling as the uncertainty around the club’s takeover rumbles on. Red Devils boss Erik ten Hag appears to be unsure about his transfer budget and gave a blunt response to reporters in the USA on Monday after being quizzed about the situation behind the scenes. And Express Sport takes a look at four free agents the Dutchman could target if funds are an issue.

Daichi Kamada

Attacking midfielder Daichi Kamada left Eintracht Frankfurt at the end of June when his contract expired and is yet to pen terms with a new club. The 26-year-old Japan international has been linked with a move to Old Trafford in the past and could provide Ten Hag with another creative option in front of goal should an offer for the ace be presented.

Kamada bagged 40 goals and 33 assists in 179 appearances for Eintracht during a six-year spell at the club and could well light up the Premier League in the future.

Adama Traore

Adama Traore left Wolves this summer following a five-year stint at the Molineux. The 27-year-old winger was previously linked with a move to Tottenham after excelling for Wolves and has proved to be a menace to some of the best defenders in England due to his sheer pace and power.

Traore has played 194 games in the Premier League during spells with Wolves, Middlesborough and Aston Villa. But he would have to increase his output in front of goal if he moved to the north west as he only bagged 10 goals and 18 assists in those encounters. The ace underwhelmed during a loan spell with Barcelona last year but would jump at the opportunity to test himself at the highest level once again.

Isco

Former Real Madrid midfielder Isco may well be in his early 30s now, but the ace will feel he still has what it takes to make an impact on the pitch. The Spain international helped Real win five Champions League trophies during a nine-year spell at the Bernabeu Stadium and spent the second half of last season with Sevilla after heading for the exit in Madrid.

If Ten Hag is looking for calm heads who can help instill a winning culture at Old Trafford, he could be tempted by the 31-year-old.

Arnau Tenas

Ten Hag now has a new first-choice keeper in the form of Onana, who has replaced David de Gea. But the 53-year-old could bring in Arnau Tenas as a back-up option after the shot-stopper left Barcelona. Tenas, 22, has excelled at age-grade level for Spain and appears to have a big future in the game. But Ten Hag will need to be quick to get his hands on the youngster as Paris Saint-Germain are said to be closing in on a deal.
