Speculation continues to surround Manchester United ahead of a potential takeover at Old Trafford. The Red Devils could soon have new owners, despite the saga dragging on. So Express Sport now brings you all the latest from the club with Sheikh Jassim, the Glazers and Sir Jim Ratcliffe featuring in our round-up.
Sheikh Jassim in Glazers decision
Sheikh Jassim remains firmly in the mix to buy United.
Yet journalist Ben Jacobs, speaking to GiveMeSport, has made it clear the Qatari billionaire is unwilling to let the Glazers stay at the club in any capacity.
“Sheikh Jassim still feels that he’s in the race,” said Jacobs. “From Ratcliffe’s point of view, he has always held a confidence because he believes his bid plays upon the fact that two of The Glazers, Joel and Avram, want to stay.
“Sheikh Jassim is not flexible. It’s an all-or-nothing bid.
“Meanwhile, Sir Jim Ratcliffe is effectively telling the Glazers that it’s the dealer’s choice.
“If they want to stay in any capacity, as long as he gets control, he’s happy with that.”

Ratcliffe theory
According to the Daily Mail, Ratcliffe is hopeful of winning United fans round in the event of any potential takeover.
The 70-year-old is seen as the frontrunner to purchase the Red Devils – but is willing to let the Glazers stay in a minor capacity.
Fans are unhappy with this decision, with many supporters long wanting to see the back of the controversial family.
Yet Ratcliffe is hopeful that the Glazers being ‘ultimately committed to leaving’ in the coming years can help him win round his critics.
Sheikh Jassim still can’t be ruled out, with the publication adding the Qatari figure is pondering a bid at the 11th hour to wrestle back control.
Three midfield targets
According to The Guardian, United are keen on signing Declan Rice at the end of the season.
There’s an expectancy the West Ham star will leave the London Stadium this summer, having dazzled once again under David Moyes.
But he’s not the only midfielder United are considering as they look to strengthen in that department.
Chelsea star Mason Mount is being eyed, with the England international potentially on the move this summer having failed to sign a new deal.
And his Blues team-mate Mateo Kovacic is under consideration as well.

Schmeichel outlines three priorities
Former United star Peter Schmeichel has outlined three priorities for the club amid takeover talk.
“In many ways it’s an interesting position that the club finds itself in,” he told the BBC.
“There are very big challenges ahead in the next couple of years that need to be addressed.
“The big one of course is the stadium which is to some degree run down.
“The training ground needs a very caring hand, if you like. Maybe even a new training ground.
“And of course, Erik ten Hag needs money to keep on building what he has began this season.”
Ferdinand makes amusing Evra confession
United legend Rio Ferdinand has amusingly revealed Patrice Evra is always leaving a group chat they’re part of.
When quizzed on The Latish Show about who is in there, he said: “You got like [Wayne] Rooney, [Patrice] Evra, [Darren] Fletcher, Nani… not [David] Beckham, he’s too old.”
And he added: “Evra just comes in and out because he gets bullied in there.
“He gets ripped and all you see is, ‘Patrice has left the group’.
“And then you get a text a couple of hours later, ‘Can you let me back in please, add me, add me’.”
