Man Utd plot Chelsea hijack, Liverpool eye trio, Arsenal want £26m ace

The summer transfer window is now just a matter of weeks away from opening up again, with several Premier League clubs thought to be hard at work in drawing up their respective strategies to attack the end-of-season market. The likes of Manchester United, Chelsea and Arsenal are likely to be among the division’s biggest spenders later this year and plenty of rumours have already been swirling in the days since the Premier League campaign drew to a close over the weekend.

United are said to be hoping to improve several positions over the course of this summer, with Erik ten Hag thought to be eyeing the addition of a new midfielder alongside a first-choice striker between now and the start of next season. The Red Devils have been linked with a host of big names over the last few weeks but have also been tipped to make a cut-price move for Sporting playmaker Manuel Ugarte, who is said to be a target for both Chelsea and Liverpool.

Arsenal, meanwhile, have recruited exceptionally well in recent transfer windows and will be looking to make several key additions to their squad when the bidding opens next month. They are said to be weighing up the idea of raiding Leeds United for the services of Wilfried Gnonto following the Yorkshire club’s relegation to the Championship, although only time will tell if they manage to get a deal done in the not-too-distant future.
