Man Utd receive £39m boost as Arsenal chase Tottenham target

The upcoming summer transfer window is now just a matter of weeks away, with several Premier League clubs already thought to be putting the wheels in motion by drawing up their respective plans of attack for the end-of-season market. The likes of Manchester United, Arsenal and Tottenham are likely to be among the division’s biggest spenders later this year and plenty of rumours have already been swirling with less than a month remaining until the current campaign draws to a close.

Manchester United are said to be hoping to improve several positions over the course of this summer, with Erik ten Hag thought to be eyeing the addition of a new midfielder alongside a first-choice striker between now and the start of next season. A host of expensive names, including the likes of Neymar and Harry Kane, have been linked with the Red Devils in recent weeks but it remains to be seen which direction they will go in when the bidding opens next month.

Arsenal, meanwhile, will be looking to add some extra quality to their squad in preparation for a renewed Premier League title challenge and have been credited with an interest in several high-profile midfielders. Declan Rice is said to remain the priority for the Gunners as things stand but they have also been linked with a move for Leicester City playmaker James Maddison, who has reportedly emerged as a potential target for Tottenham.
