Man Utd star Harry Maguire brutally scolded by Andre Onana as tempers flare
Harry Maguire felt the full wrath of Andre Onana’s anger during Manchester United’s defeat to Borussia Dortmund as tempers flared on the pitch. United were hoping to end their US pre-season tour with a positive performance against the Bundesliga side.
There were a section of United supporters inside the Allegiant Stadium who derided Maguire at every opportunity during the match. And new signing Onana didn’t take long to take aim at the England star himself after he was brought on for the start of the second half.
Maguire was caught out defensively when a sloppy pass to Christian Eriksen was pounced on by Dortmund. Onana was able to make a superb stop to deny Sebastian Haller before Karim Adeyemi blasted wide from just eight yards out.
As soon as the ball was out of play, Onana was seen sprinting up to Maguire in fury. The summer signing vented his anger at the centre-back, who didn’t appear to react in any way.
It wasn’t the only occasion a United player berated one of his team-mates on the pitch. Brandon Williams and Tom Heaton were spotted in a blazing row after Donyell Malen’s second goal in quick succession.
Heaton appeared to take aim at Williams after the goal with the full-back responding: “My fauly? It was your f*** up!” The goalkeeper then marched out of his box to confront Williams over his remark.
